- Explain the functions of the major components of blood (erthyrocytes, leukocytes, platelets, plasma)
- Explain Packed Cell Volume (PCV) and how it varies
- Describe the main plasma proteins and their roles
- Describe how red blood cells are produced, including the roles of the liver, spleen and kidneys
- Describe the process of red blood cell turnover
- Explain the process of how blood clots (haemostasis)
